Our Role
Devon & Cornwall Community Scrutiny Panel’s mission is to build trust and confidence between Devon & Cornwall Police and the community they serve through scrutiny, accountability, transparency and training.
How you can get involved
-
Volunteer
Volunteers from our force region of Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are passionate about social justice and improving police-community relations.
Volunteering with the DCCS Panel provides a platform for marginalised voices and helps local people gain a greater understanding of police experiences.

Members' Thoughts
“I have learnt that the police want to listen and there are huge benefits from communication between the D&C Police and members of the community panel, including seeing it from another person's perspective.”
- Helene
“I have learnt that the police use up to date technology and data to monitor their performance. We have had inputs about police training and from senior officers explaining the use of stop and search and of force in their areas, adding context to the videos that we view. Importantly I have learnt a great deal from fellow panel members, who are able to express their views and thoughts openly and honestly.”
